House in the Wild is a boutique lifestyle lodge located on a bend in the Mara River, with 6 private suites, with 1 or 2 rooms each.  There is a main lounge and dining area with a beautiful swahili bar, a swimming pool with a thatch gazebo and bar.  Dining takes place either privately in a cosy setting under the stars, by a fireplace in the gazebo or dining room, or on your private verandah.  Sundowners are set up on the lawn in the evenings, or out on the plains on your drive.

At House in the Wild we want our guests to enjoy the safari of their dreams, alongside experiencing what life is really like in the Mara. This is a safari for your senses, and we put alot of care into how you experience every element of your stay, from the sustainably sourced food and drinks, the settings and the activities on offer.​ ​

House in the Wild offers incredible game-driving through Enonkishu, Lemek and Ol Chorro Conservancies, in exclusive use vehicles. Aside from game driving, there are always interesting activities going on, to be done at your own pace in your own time.

THE ORIGINAL COTTAGE This is the original building of House in the Wild, once a round mud hut, this unique cottage has been built into 2 ensuite rooms that share a verandah with a chill out area and bar.  There are bath tubs and outside star showers in each room and this room is close to the main living area, so perfect for families with small children.

THE WARBURGIA COTTAGE Under the shade of a huge Warborgia Tree, a double en suite with massive bath overlooking the river. There is an upstairs loft chill-out area, with great views over the river, which has two lovely daybeds that can be used for children.

THE RIVER COTTAGE One double with a huge bathroom with a copper bath, a large verandah and lounge area. This cottage is perfect for those couples who enjoy waking up with the sunrise across the river, privacy and watching hippos wallow below.

THE OLERAI COTTAGE This cottage was completed in October 2021 and is similar in design to the Hippo Cottage, a twin/ double ensuite, tucked into huge trees and looking downstream towards the sunset. There is an outdoor star shower and a huge copper bath that overlooks the river.  There is a beautiful verandah with a chill out space where you can enjoy private dining, chill out and enjoy quality time, or catch up on the world (if you have to…)

THE HIPPO COTTAGE Set in a beautiful spot in the shade of huge leafy trees on the banks of the Mara River.  With its own huge verandah and bath overlooking the river, it is the perfect room for complete privacy.

THE MARULA COTTAGE This completely private cottage has two large double en-suite rooms with its’ own huge private lawn, verandah and lounge area with a large fireplace and bar.

We also have a selection of private safari homes to suit different budgets, that are available for guests to have on an exclusive use basis.    Our team at House in the Wild provide the guest experience and a full board service. All drinks are also provided.

AMANI HOUSE Amani House is a spectacular and elegant safari home, overlooking the plains of Naretoi with the Keleleoni hill in the back ground.  It has three separate buildings. Four luxurious king ensuite rooms in the family house and three rooms in the guest house; the main house has living, dining, media, and billiard rooms. There is a beautiful swimming pool, with a hot tub at one end and a pergola for outdoor dining alongside. There is also a basketball / pickle ball court and a fully equipped gym. Each of the buildings has a high definition TV with Apple TV, and the main house has an indoor and outdoor Sonos system.

JAMANI HOUSE Jamani House is an architectural masterpiece, designed to blend into the riverine forests of the Mara.  It over lookings the Naretoi plains on one side, with lawns that stretch out to the Mara River on the other side.  It has four double ensuite bedrooms and one bunk room also ensuite. The house has a spacious living room with a fireplace, an open bar and a large dining room with a fireplace, There is a small library with a flat screen TV equipped with Apple TV. There is a beautiful sundowner deck above the library.

OLMAREI HOUSE Olmerai House is a beautiful ranch style house on Naretoi, five minutes drive from House in the Wild, on the banks of the Mara River, overlooking a meander where hippos wallow below a Swahili style gazebo, next to the huge swimming pool. There is a large family and living room with an open dining room connected to a modern kitch- en. The menus are prepared carefully by our team of Wild Chefs, using the freshest and locally grown ingredients. Olmarei House sleeps 10 pax in three main ensuite king rooms in the main house and two ensuite rooms in the guest cottages next to the main house. There is a barbeque chill out area, with a ping pong table on the large verandah on the river side of the house. There is a sundowner deck with a fire pit on the roof of the house at one end.
